The Revival Myth

As we begin to look out across the landscape of the modern Church world today... what we see is a very disturbing site. Yes, on one hand there are what people call "great moves of God" yet on the other hand we see very little if any true moves of God.

I am afraid that we in the body of Christ have been sold a lie in the last several years thats says WE ARE IN REVIVAL. This is the revival myth of the last days. And it is this myth, that endangers our very existence.

What's happened is this:

1. We've eqauted revival with goosbumps
2. We've traded a true move of God for the man made move of God
3. We've exchanged the truth of God's word for a trivial verson of self help theology
4. We've allowed the Christian elite to preach and teach false doctrine because it feels good
5. And we've sat back and allowed a world that lost without God to continue to die and go to hell

My fear is that we have so engulfed ourselves in the idea of being "BLESSED" being "HAPPY" and being "RICH" that we have forgotten all about the idea of TRUE REVIVAL. True revival does not come on the back of a slick haired, shiny shoed tv preacher. It does not come on the back of the Prosperity gospel that is being perpetrated on the Body of Christ. It does not come because of goosbumps, shouting, or dancing. But a true move of God can only come when God's chosen people begin to once again weep between the porch and the altar .. crying out to see his face!

True revival will demand the following

1. THAT THE TRUTH BE PREACHED
2. THAT WE REACH OUT TO THE LOST
3. THAT WE SEEK HIS FACE INSTEAD OF HIS HAND
4. THAT WE PRAY
5. THAT WE FAST
6. IT WILL TAKE WORK

Yes, it will take work, dedication, and sacrifice. I know this is much different than what we are being taught today. Much different than the BLESS ME, PROSPER ME, GOSPEL being preached by wolves in sheep clothing with pockets full of our tithe money. But hear this today saint of God. Now is the time for true revival, now is the time for a real move of God.

But i ask you, ARE WE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE?
